You must change your Mindset.

‘Change your mindset’ is easily said, but one must first ask: “What is my mindset?”
Experienced martial artists may know this through training and combat. For the uninitiated, a first blow can cause numbing shock, followed by an adrenaline-induced freeze.
In a martial-arts context, Mind, Body and Spirit can be understood less as three separate things and more as three interconnected dimensions of a complete martial artist.
MIND — Awareness & Decision
The Mind is the ability to observe with understanding and make decisions.
It encompasses:
-
Observation and perception
-
Situational awareness
-
Judgement and decision-making
-
Concentration and focus
-
Tactical and strategic thinking
-
Controlling fear, stress and emotion
-
Adaptability when circumstances change
Martial principle: Train the mind to see what is happening and decide what to do.
BODY — Capability
The Body is the physical instrument of combat.
It encompasses:
-
Strength, speed and power
-
Balance, coordination and movement
-
Technique and physical skill
-
Fitness, endurance and mobility
-
Awareness of distance, position and timing
-
The ability to act effectively under pressure
Martial principle: Train the body to do what is required.
SPIRIT — Will & Character
The Spirit is the inner force that determines how and why you act, particularly when challenged.
It encompasses:
-
Courage and determination
-
Discipline and perseverance
-
Confidence without arrogance
-
Resilience after failure or adversity
-
Personal values and ethics
-
Responsibility and self-control
-
The will to continue when the body and mind are under pressure
Martial principle: Train the spirit to remain committed when tested.
Do not change your mindset – TRAIN YOUR MINDSET.
